Default I need a little help on bidding this job.

I am working on a bid to mow 80.737 acres. It is in 3 Phases (1,2,&3) Phase 1 is already split up in to lots. I will be mowing the lots (45) in phase that are not sold yet & the gras along the side walks. Phase 2&3 have not been split up yet. Phase 3 Dont have as much grass on it as 1&2 does. I dont really know the best way to bid a job this big. It will take me about 1 .5 hours to get to the job site. I was going to see if any onr had any thougs on this. Photo of pahse 3 Phase 1 Phase 1 is the only phase that has wall on it.

Lawn care business tips
I have no idea what to bid, but make sure the build is not going broke, get a good written contract with all your Damages and remedies spelled out. I sell real estate in FL and I have seen a few of these guys go under. it would stink to get a huge job like that and not get paid for it.

Thumbs up

I am bidding this for the bank that I have been doing work for over a year now. Yes the builder did go under, and the bank has taken it over, and thaat is who I'm working for.

Phase 2&3 Dont have any roads in as of you. That will come later. Phase 2 is 26.623 ACHERS and Phase 3 is 29.980 ACKERS But Phase 3 Dont have as much grass on it. This is a photo of Phase 3

This is looking out over Phase 2

This is Phase 1 We will be mowing all unsold lots and along the side walks that are along the main entery.

Ok let's split this up into smaller sections.

Phase 1 = 45 lots.

How often would you be mowing these? How long would it take to mow each lot? Will you have to trim it? Edge it? etc or is this a rough cut?

It will take about 45 min per lot. There is no trimming on the lots just cut.
Just a rough cut. Will cut Bi-weekly.

It looks like you will have to put some clean up work into the main common ground to get it looking good, or is this not a concern?

Do you have a bush hog, or some other way to mow down the lots besides a regular commercial mower? Even with a big commercial mower, you are going to tear it apart on that type of landscape.

A large Tractor(bush hog) shouldnt take you 45 min. to cut them.

Can you spray roundup or herbicide of choice around all obsticles to shorten your time and work load?

Also keep in mind, i know the bank doesn't care, but you give them a good price, maybe they refer all new building and home ownership to you for regular maintenance. Maybe put that in contract.

Just my thoughts, but i have been known to be wrong once in my life , HAHA

I think you need the mower I seen someone else talking about 74 inch cut 40 hp and it will do 9.2 acres per hour. pick you up a couple of them and some cheap labor and you can make bank off of that bank.

45min x 45 lots? = 33 or so hours?
