Default Huge opportunity

I just got a call with a huge opportunity. Its for an Inn here locally. I have to stop by there this afternoon to see what its about and give a quote. I have never been there but I do have a website. Any ideas on charging for such a job? The management company mentioned there is not a lot of grass but there is a little and some blowing and some general weekly grounds maintenance that need to be done. Anyway if anyone can give some suggestions on pricing for a job like this I would greatly appreciate it. Here is the website for the place.

Lawn care business tips
Can you get an overhead screen shot of the map of the property?

When you visit the location and walk the property you will get a better idea of what you will need to do. Keep us posted.

The website really makes it seem like an upscale bed an breakfast. Could be really nice. Yea, I'd like to find out how this went as well.

Ok well I got back about an hour ago. It really is not as ritzy as the website makes it look as you probably already figured but it is actually very nice. There is a small lawn and some landscaping that was just finished. I gave a quote of what I thought was a fair price. The only issue is it is 2 stories strait up with ivy growing up the brink walls that needs to be trimmed once a year. I have yet to figure out this as the price quoted would not cover the cost of the man lift rental. Maybe that's something that can be worked out when that time comes. Basically I will do it for the price quoted if he has a man lift there waiting for me that day. I think it was hook line and sinker. I have learned how to read people fairly good and I expect to get the job once he discuses it with his wife who handles the finances for the venture.

Default ladder

a 28 foot ladder will reach that height without a lift.

Yes but I don't know if I can climb a 228 foot ladder lol. Now a man lift I can use lol. Actually I use to be a fire fighter and our ladder trucks were a lot taller than 28 feet but the ladders were crazy, You may as well have been on the ground with all the railing they had and everything.

I understand the firetruck ladder. I don't know if I could do that myself. Thats a different way of doing things

I don't know what else you could use without losing money on a lift. If you rented one for a day or half a day or weekend then you might as well go clean gutters with it on that day/weekend to make up for the hit you will take. Then you would be good to go and not lose $$$. I don't know what California is like for gutter's and such. I am sure somebody cleans them??? Window cleaning perhaps? Tree removal and branches? Something out there you can use it on. Maybe hang your competition with a noose on a monthly basis? Cmon Dexter!

Actually I am not to worried about it. I will put the orange bubble on the roof "I've been waiting for an excuse to use it" and ladder in the back of the truck if I have to. I may look like a pansy taking one little step at a time and holding onto anything I can but I will get the job done in a timely manor. I went through this same thing when doing a fire drill where we had to climb the ladder truck to the roof of a local school gym. My knees were shaking. Eventually though had to get r done and it really was not as bad as it seamed. The only issue I came up with is it was so fun I forgot to clip my D ring to the top run once I got there, a very big no no but it was what it was. As said I am sure it will be no big deal after the first time.

Hey I just had an awesome thought. The fire house is right down the road. I am still licensed. I will just go borrow the ladder truck for the day lol.
