Lawn care business tips
I tend to be careless if I'm using bungees, almost lose my eyes every time... So I tried out inexpensive "DOG LEASHES"

they work like a charm for holding equipment in place.

There is no hope for tarps or cans... man do those suckers fly when given the chance. LOL

I'm on my 3rd coffee, I start work on the first lawn by 7Am... It's 4:56Am... I'm weird.

OOOPS! I didn't read your post right, concerning protecting your equipment from theft...

HMMM. Well the best things will eat up time in your day like crazy.

If it's hard for thieves to get your equipment, it's probably not easy for you to get to it either.

Great question. Being it a truck, I can't say to nail in a tarp cover... I guess chains with key locks will do?

We have an automotive type store here called Canadian Tire, they have an insert with a lock that goes under the latch of the tail gate, I think mine cost around $30.00, works great.

What kind of equipment are you trying to secure?

You could install some trimmer racks inside. They have locks on them and would certainly make it a BIG problem to steal them.

I don't know what kind of mower you have, but you could mount one of these wheel locks on your pickup bed and then lock the wheel in.

Does any of this help?

i really like the wheel lock! just what i was looking for!

i reckon i could do something along those lines with the blower.... and get a locking toolbox for the hedge trimmers?

I would guess either. As long as it makes it difficult to get the equipment out, you should be ok. If someone has to go in there and start really pulling at it and making a lot of noise, it would probably scare them off.

They also make leaf blower racks that lock as well.

And racks for hedge trimmers.

Experiment with these and see what you come up with.

Also take some before and after pics to show us what you did so others in the same situation can learn from you.

Thanks!
