Default How will your business be affected?

In case you missed it, the Democratic Congress passed the cap and trade bill. You probably did miss it because ABC, NBC, and MSN seemed to miss the story. CBS did mention it - sort of. This bill if passed by the Senate will add up to $3,200 annually to every family in the US per year with higher gas, oil, desil, heating oil, electricity, and every other form of energy. That's $62.00 a week just in energy costs, not to mention the accompanying cost increases in food and other non essential items such as consumer goods, you know, anything you purchase. All in the name of "Global Warming".

An unsupported, non-scientific theory. It's main proponent, Al Gore, didn't even show up to testify for fear of having to answer tough questions. In fact, since he ran for president and started this global warming hysteria, he has refused every challenge to debate it! There is more actual evidence debunking the theory added each day.

The UN's (Al gore's) 5,000 scientist (mostly with political science and social science degrees) degrees supporting it pale when compared the 40,000 PhD's (actual scientists - climatologist, physicists, mathematicians, meteorologists, chemists, etc.) who have formed a consortium debunking the "theory". The evidence tends to point to global cooling but that is not disclosed.

With less disposable money available, how do you think your business will be affected? How will $150.00 plus a week less disposable money from your present and (maybe) future customers view your services? How much will you have to raise your prices to cover your increased outlay?

Don't take my word for it. Goggle "The case against global warming" and investigate it yourself. This bill if passed will kill your business. Increased costs will eliminate about 10% of the workforce increasing inflation and raising taxes even more.

Lawn care business tips
The situation sucks, I wonder how long until this is all in the past.

It's a crappy year to start a business, everyone's gone out to get one of those crappy battery powered mowers for a couple hundred bucks instead of hiring our service.

We're basically just convenient to those who actually have no time to maintain their lawn. Those who have weekends off work, will do it themselves no matter how old they are. It's a big scare that our customer base will be thinning out...

It would be a nightmare if people actually had their son's do the yard work as a chore.. lol parents hardly ever try this, scary thought if they would.

What happens in the forum, stays in the forum, don't let this secret out! haha!

I thought the democrats were for the working man. Yea right!

I thought the goal was to create more jobs not lose more and that's what this bill will accomplish !

This whole global warming scam irratates the sh**t out of me.
We are losing jobs to 3rd world countries who don't give a damn about the climate, the earth, pollution etc. and Al Gore and the left wingers think that they can clean up the planet with this bull sh**t.

At a time when people in this country are struggling to pay mortgages, utilities, food , education etc. our "for the working man" pollititions can still get their agenda thru on this scam amazes me.

WAKE UP PEOPLE!!

I'll just do the only thing I can do, pass on the costs to the consumer, then send them a letter saying "Al Gore thanks you for your support".

Default What you can do

One third of the Senate is up for election in 2010. If your Senator is on this list, let him know your feelings about cap and trade. Their election/re-election depends on you.

Default Well that sucks dunnit?

Well I've always said every time I get into something it's either just gone down or falls apart right when I arrive. Maybe I jinxed us all haha. Here's a thought... what constitutes "higher"? And how will they track a family's diesel, gasoline, etc? Or does it mean that they are raising the prices of those? I didn't get it. I guess I could look it up but one of you who already knows can explain it to me.
This global warming thing lol... I mean "who are these people"??? Have you ever actually looked into the eyes of Al Gore when he's talking on an issue? It's seriously like he's gone. Like some creepy left wing Stepford Husband robot creature from the apocalypse... do do do do! What a sickie. My theory is that he's possessed by the Devil. Any takers?

Anything that produces CO2 will be taxed, if it is imported - it will be tarrifed. Peolis already wants a $3.50 tax and diesel. The Heritage Foundation estimates a 90% increase in electric prices. 50% for natural gas (of which 40% is imported).
