I like this concept. How cool would it be to rent out Best Buy's 'Luxury Boxes' for parties. Would you do it?
I do wonder if it will help sell more products. Maybe it will, it's worth a try!
Best Buy is testing out a new retail concept that may just be the next big thing. The company opened a concept store in Chicago that lets consumers "escape to the hottest gadgets your friends haven't even heard of yet" in a laid-back atmosphere that allows them to browse the latest technology, test out items, lounge with friends, and even refuel at the in-store café. Appropriately called Escape, the store even has spaces called Luxury Boxes stocked with catered food where people can rent out space with groups of friends to play their favorite games, watch movies and sports, and listen to music. This "try before you buy" concept is perfect for this type of retail industry where word-of-mouth is essential to getting your gadget on the "must have" list. I can't help but wonder, though: What other types of businesses will this concept work for?
