Lawn care business tips
hey team,
i will post some pics to put on flyer in a day or two. the weather was bad yesterday so i could not freshen up a yard to take pics of. another thing, if have not taken any pics of my accounts before simply b/c im just getting started (this being my first season). that being said i will post the pic when i get a chance and you all let me know if you think it is something worth putting on a flyer. I would greatly appreciate it.

You want to include this "mowing, trimming/edging, mulching, hedge trimming, fertilization" and what else would you like? Any concept ideas? What message are you trying to convey? What is the purpose of this specific flyer?

im trying to get my name out there. i just started last season and have about 6 full time customers and they actually have been great. i just want to put my name out more in there neighborhood. i would rather have someone call me and let me explain to them my services than having a list of things on my flyer. throw something out and let me take a look. thanks.

Hi Collegiate,

How about door hangers? If you are looking to canvas an area, they may be better. So far what we have seen with our Lawn Care Operator clients is that they use their flyers and door hangers to let the customer know they exist along with promote their services. They may even promote special seasonal services.

Another thing to consider is how many colors do you want? 1, 2, 3 or maybe full color?

When you are finished servicing your clients, you could place door hangers on their neighbor's houses to help expand and maybe even jot down a price on what the lawn service would cost for their yard.

that is a good idea. i like that. in addition to that i was going to also do direct mailers for the general area in which i intend to do business. would that be over doing it? do you see this as just a waste of money and time?

That looks good. What about Stretching my logo horizontally and take the phone number off of the actual logo. I like the number in larger print at the bottom. Do you have a different graphic you can use behind/above the logo at the top of flyer. Maybe a different color or something? See What you can do. Thanks

The return on direct mailing is usually low so to compensate you need to send out a lot of mailers.

Here is a quote from this site that may give you more insight.

" Response percentage =
Direct mail: orders received divided by pieces mailed
(200 orders/10,000 mailing = 2% response)
Space ads: orders received divided by circulation
(200 orders/200,000 circulation = 1/10% response)
T.V./Radio: orders received divided by audience
(200 orders/1,000,000 audience = 2/100% response)"

There are a lot of ways to get your name out on a low budget. Be creative and think up interesting ways! Post any thoughts you have and maybe others will have more to share with you.
