Help! Bidding a landscape job!

Are you taking the rock up before you ly the fabric? As for cost....charge the customer for the fabric plus a mark-up, then charge your hourly rate for the rest.

In addition to what Doug has asked, are you expected to remove the weeds?

If they want to see rock it sounds like they want to see the soil/rocks underneath, this could be quite a job unless you have a box scraper. Not knowing what equipment you have, this is what we would do.

We use a brush saw, many companies make them, we use the John deere unit which has a very comfortable body strap, we would quote $130.00 based on what you have posted, weeds would be bagged, owners responsibility or we charge $10.00 a bag to haul away.

Go in with a box scraper and level, take down to the soil $145.00

Spread industrial landscape fabric, we use the same product used on septic fields, $97.00 installed

Rock for top, what kind, how thick? If they were to purchase, we will spread with a loader, be done in about 45 min, cost $125.00

This entire process will take about 2 to 3 hours in total, two employees, brush saw and tractor with loader and box blade, one time transportation fee $35.00 to $50.00.
