Default help getting customers

i'm 17 and i mow and landscape with a friend of mine. We are a pretty good team and we do good work. but we can't seem find enough work. i know we are 17 but i don't know what to do. we need some good, solid, every week lawns and we don't have to many of them.

our equipment for cutting grass consists of:
2 push mowers
2 weed eaters
2 back pack blowers

we have everything we need i think...

PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO GET MORE LAWNS

What kinds of things have you been doing so far to attract new customers? How did you get the ones you have so far?

How many of your friends and family know you are in business? Also how many neighbors know? Having business cards to hand out and enlisting friends and family to hand them out to their contacts is very helpful as well.

Have you experimented with craigslist yet?

You had some luck on CL? Every time I tryed to post an add there it would get flagged and removed.

What category did you advertise in?

A bunch of times we would see competitors flag ads posted on craigslist and to combat this, lawn care business owners would repost their add more frequently. Sometimes even daily.

Default Craigslist Advertising

--> I pretty much only use craigslist to build my business.

I started my business in spring, and now have about 15 lawns just from craigslist. In March/April I could only follow about 1 in 7 of my leads I was so swamped.

I usually post in Household services, because that is really where landscaping posts belong. Sometimes I'll post in general for sale under a heading like "Mulch Delivered & Spread" or "Mulch for sale unbeatable prices".

http://cnj.craigslist.org/hss/1227945039.html
http://cnj.craigslist.org/hss/1211273846.html
http://cnj.craigslist.org/hss/1228982775.html
http://cnj.craigslist.org/for/1214486716.html

I personally don't finance my business- so the lowest cost advertising for me is best. I allow landscaping leads to build mowing leads from craigslist.
