Default Project Welcome Home

Mike Ruiz wrote me about this great landscaping project he is doing to Welcome home a member of the Armed Forces from Iraq.

"Project Welcome Home" has been setup to welcome home CPT Michael a Freehold Twp Resident. As some of you already know I volunteer my mowing service to men and women who are service us in the Middle East. The person I am currently sponsoring is CPT Michael who is stationed in Iraq.

Check out his website page about this http://www.ruizlawn.com/project.html

Mike wrote and said he is planning to contact the local media to let them know what is going on. Hopefully this will bring him a lot of publicity.

What do you think about doing something like this?

Lawn care business tips
Aside from any publicity that he may receive from this incident, this is definitely a worthy cause. This may even be something I would be interested in doing, servicing the equipment free of charge.

Eli that is a great idea. You could look for projects in your area and see if you can get some local lawn care business owners to help out with them!

I bet a lot of great projects could be completed like that.

Hi Steve, Thanks for the traffic to Project Welcome Home. Hopefully I can make the public aware of our soldiers hardship and how much they have given up for us. We always say we support our troops oversea. But do we? I finally stepped up to the plate and wanted to do something about it. "Walk the Walk". It all started with Project Evergreeen, they match up soldiers with local landscapers to help maintain there lawns while they are oversea. After learning about Cpt Michael Panzera I wanted to do more. The married soldiers have their spouses and children to make them feel welcome, but the single soldiers really do not have anyone. So this is where I step in. Please visit my site to learn more on Project Welcome Home.

Thanks everyone for your time,
Mike Ruiz

This is fantastic! Do you have any updates on the local media? The newspapers and television stations and such to let them know you are pulling together all these resources to help out in the way you are?

Maybe even a press release sent to them may help get some media attention. Then on the day you are performing this task, you could take pictures of the crew and show what you did and send that to the paper as well.

If you get the free papers in your area, make sure you contact them as well.
