Default Had a great day

Had a great day!

I did 3 small lawns, gave 10 estimates and got 4 of them. When I got home, I had 10 phone calls to return and 11 emails replys for Free Estimates from my website (not counting the duplicates).

A happy vent for a change.

Hope everyone else is doing great!

Steve

That is great news Steve and I am very happy for you, keep it up, for the ones you do not get, do you do a follow up to see why? Sometimes is something other than price, not often but a follow up may lead to a sale, I had that happen last week, the lady I guess misunderstood her written quote, I explained it and we ended up with the deal. If it is pricing I personally maintain a list as I plan to do a call in a month or six weeks and just say I wanted to once again thank them for comsidering us .....weeks ago and if there is any services that we could offer we would be pleased to provide a free quote, the actual goal will be to see if they are happy with their current provider that we may have lost something to.

Also, did you do something that is generating your leads, especially to your website?

All the Very Best!

Andy

Hey Thats GOOD News! Things around here seem to be picking up a lil for me too. 2 weeks ago I cut a small Front yard Only for a Man and last Sat. he called and wanted me to look at his 92 yr old Moms Yard which she has lived for over 60 years. It was grown up real bad and had 4 trailer loads (6x12) of
small wild oaks everywhere I had to remove. The place looked like real bad.
So far 2 days and about 2 hrs in the morning and it will be done. It looks like someone built a house over night, LOL! When I seen it I thought the man would turn down my estimate but he jumped on it quick. That made me think I might have been to cheap. LOL! But I am happy with it and makes the old Lady (PROUD TO HAVE HER YARD BACK!) she says that all day and tells me (IT LOOKS BETTER THAN IT EVER DID!) I LOVE IT!
Hope it picks up for all of us!

Hi Andy,

I pretty much folloowed the Dothan Lawn Care Caper ebook with a great deal of help and suggestions from many Forum members. I now hold Google positions 1-5 for Stout Services Lasw Care Plus, 2 - 4 For Lawn Care Hartsville SC, 2 and 3 for Lawn Mowing Hartsville SC, 2 for All natural Insect Control Hartsville SC, and 2 for Hartsville SC Lawn Services.

I've only been blogging for 6 days and don't have any data from that yet.

I am the only company that is licienced and insured in the area.

I made a deal with the local ACE Hardware. I buy my supplies from them (that they carry), rent my equipment when needed, and they display my fliers.

When canvasing neighborhoods I leave a magnet ad. I either hand it to them or if no one's home I stick it on their metal door if they have one or on the doorknob it they don't. Flyers they just throw away, but the magnet goes on their Refrig.

Steve

That is excellent Steve, looks like things are taking off, once you get to a certain size, I think in this industry around 30 customers, they spread the word which is probably our best marketing tool and growth from that will just snowball.

Good for you on the search engine data, I get a few from the website but mainly word of mouth, our mail drop is today/Monday to very specific areas, I had called Canada Post as I know the manager and asked that they hold off for a week as I was overwhelmed....things are settling down.

And good luck on the sprayer!

This is my first year but I have been indoctrinated into business most of my life. My father was "Self Employed" and I learned a great deal by osmosis. Although I spent 22 years in the Navy, I used the GI bill and received A BS in Business management and then my MS. I have been in other business ventures, but this is my first active, full time venture. Family pressures are off so I no longer "need" a JOB (Just Over Broke

Well buddy from what I read of your posts, you have it nailed down. Education in Self Employment from family can't be beat.

Have a super day and weekend!

I agree, my father was self employed most of his life & something causes that mentality mindset to be passed on automatically. Not everyone takes advantage of it though. I am the oldest of 5 boys, I am the only one to have started his own business as of yet, but I believe my brothers would also have the ability to thrive doing so if they try it.

I have been using magnet business cards for about a year & a half. Money well spent.
