Lawn care business tips
Hi Smooth Printing,

How do you think lawn care business owners can best utilize cards to improve their business? When should they be sending them out?

Steve,

Thank you for your inquiry!
There are many options and ways to utilize plastic cards in the lawn and landscape industries as these cards are printed custom so your competition cant have the same design as yours.

Marketing ideas for custom printed plastic cards:

• Loyalty card (keep track of transactions)
• Gift card (team up with a local business and give away a pizza etc)
• Membership cards (team up with a local gym)
• Calendar cards (people will hold onto nice cards especially with information that can be used on a daily basis)
• Discount cards ( get with 6-8 business's and sell them add space not only do you get your prime ad spot but you can make money selling the spots and you can take this to another level and offer yard signs and share the add with the same business's
• Priority customers (offer discounts to your priority customers and let them know by giving them a custom plastic card)

» Full color printing on both sides of the plastic cards
» Embossing of names/numbers (individualized cards)
» PINs
» Sequential or random numbering (embossed or printed)
» Barcoding
» Hot stamping (metallic foil)
» Signature panels
» Scratch-Off panels
» Gold & Silver Plastic Cards
» Transparent & Frosted Plastic Cards

we also offer free design services

Default Sending them out

Steve,

I suggest getting the plastic cards to the customer at least a month before the season begins.

Let's go through some of these great ideas.

Quote:
Loyalty card (keep track of transactions)
Would this be something like you see in a pizzeria where you buy 10 pizzas and you get the 11th free? Or something like that?

So would you have a card where you get X amount of lawn cuts and get a free aeration? Or something?

What are your thoughts on this?

Steve,

Thank you for your reply!

Loyalty cards can be used just as you described except instead of having a card that you punch holes in you can program the unique number that is embedded into the magnet stripe to hold all the details and you can program this using your credit card terminal or computer terminal all you need is the ability to scan the barcode. The other thing that is great with this program is you can collect the card back and issue to another customer or continue to keep track of the same customer.

Thank you,
Dave Long

Dave,

Have you thought of different kinds of promotions a lawn care business could use that would harness such a card? What would you suggest?

Why would you want to collect the card back? Or how would you collect it back? Can you give me a for instance?

Also do you have any designs that you could show us on how this would look, that are green industry specific?

Steve,

You can let the customer know that the loyalty card is a program that they can participate in and once that program is up they can either re-new the program or you collect the card back to re-use with another client.

The cards are a very organized way to keep track of your clients.

I will have some samples for you to see on Monday.

Thank you,
Dave
