I guess i just don't see the point in CSS. . .And I don't like the boxyness (if thats a word lol ) of the lay out . ..

I guess just think my html site does fine on SEO
You should really read up on CSS...here are some awesome links

http://stylizedweb.com/2008/03/12/most-used-css-tricks/

And again...I am sorry you don't like the layout or 'boxyness' I guess I was just going for a professional look.

Can I ask why the .biz instead of something more familiar to people like .com or .net?
It seems like the load time is a bit high?

Well because .com is for sale but im not buying for 15,000.00! the connection times are fine at .11ms for the past year.
Besides, people are familiar whith whatever they are presented with. If it was .anything and it was in front of them, they will enter it into thier browser.

Shane what are your expectations with the forum feature. I've thought about it myself. One of my selling points has been "communication is key". As a selling point it has worked at times. It has also blown back on me in a couple of situations. So in terms of providing a forum which customers can use? I see an upside that is tiny compared to the downside(s).

A review of your website:
It's hard to review another LCO's website objectively from a consumers view point. But my impression from that perspective is that fails at the KISS method. Beyond that only you can tell us how well it helps your business make money. My 1st impression though is that is doesn't do enough to grab on hold a potential customer who may visit you site.

From a non-consumer standpoint, it's very slick. Nice graphics. Very professional.

I don't see how heavly promoting your new website on your website is practical. Thats a lot of real estate.

Hi Penny,

Welcome to our forum.

Can you share with us what you have found to be the pitfalls and how you dealt with them?

When you looked at it, what did you think didn't do enough or what would you do differently?

Communicating with customers at the level I promoted it, is very time consuming. You certainly don't want to set yourself up for failing to do what you said you could do. I have found that people really respond to the idea of good proactive communication. You'd just better be able to back up your claim.

At first glance I found myself glancing all over the webpage. Looking for what? I don't know thats not an easy question. I feel the front page needs a hook.

Am I in the right place. Does this company provide the service I want in my area and why should I continue to read this webpage.

and finally by real estate I mean space on the screen. You have a limited amount of time to grab a visitor/potential clients attention and compell them to continue. A large area of a webpage being used to point out its "new and improved" to me is waisted resourses.

just friendly observations. I'm just "tom the mower" not an expert by any stretch. As A matter of fact my webpage sucks eggs compared to clarks.

Tom,

Thank you for the insight thus far. Could you explain to us a little more about how communication with a customer can blow back on a lawn care business owner? I think this is a very important topic and any examples you could share could help us understand the concept better.

Thanks!
