well heres from their website

In 1979, our corporate headquarters were established in East Lansing, Michigan operating as TruGreen.

With the success of our lawn care services, ServiceMaster® decided to acquire TruGreen in 1990, after which we then moved our headquarters to Memphis, Tennessee to join the ServiceMaster family of brands.

ServiceMaster officially acquired ChemLawn in 1992, making our business unit the largest professional lawn care provider in the nation. It immediately began operating as TruGreen, doing business as TruGreen ChemLawn.

Combined with our commercial services business unit, TruGreen LandCare, TruGreen ChemLawn has become the world's largest lawn and landscape company serving more than 3.4 million residential and commercial customers across the U.S. with lawn care, tree and shrub care, and landscaping services.

As the current industry leader, we've continued to lead in the development of new technology for lawn care. TruGreen ChemLawn devotes substantial resources to continually evaluate new products and equipment and to develop better methods for taking care of grass, trees, and shrubs. All of our lawn specialists are tenured full-time employees who must complete a rigorous training program before they can be certified by TruGreen.

Additionally, we have taken an active leadership role in both developing and supporting sound environmental practices and regulatory policies. TruGreen is committed to environmentally responsible practices and products, and we have established our own set of environmental stewardship principles.

Thanks Maelawncare,

I didn't even think about that

I bet any of you could build a company as large as them too if you wanted.

Wayne Huizenga was involved with ChemLawn. He is a billionaire who created the BlockBuster Video chain as well as the garbage disposal company Waste Management.

You can read more about Wayne here

Citizen Wayne - The Unauthorized Biography

A college dropout and the product of a broken home, H. Wayne Huizenga rose to become the King Midas of South Florida. His formula for success? A dash of hard work and perseverance, and a lot of hitting below the belt.

He was able to build up these companies in a very short time by buying up existing businesses. Then he resold them as one entity for a lot more money.
