Lawn care business tips

Very fascinating stuff! Do you think you can actually save time applying this instead of the rock salt? Also it appears to do less damage to your truck than salt or am I wrong on that. When you apply this, can you use it as a selling point to stand out from other snow plowers in your area or what would suggest on your marketing when it comes to this?

You save time in the sense that this can be pre-applied up to 24 hours before a storm. When the storm comes, you can dedicate yourself to removing the snow only and not trying to do both in a small time frame. Because it does not get plowed away, it will melt off the film that is missed by the plow. It is clean, with no material getting in or on your truck. As far as a selling point, I use the following:

Product is available with no shortages.

It works better than salt (-25 degrees)

It is less harmful to grass and plants.

No tracking of salt residue into buildings ect.

Cost to the customer is up to 50% less than salt. (contractor will still make the same profit of salt)

Just to name a few.

I ship the spray units, but the material is available most anywhere. You just need to know where to look to get it. Here are some places that carry it.

Asphalt Plants
Concrete Plants
Dust Control Services (dirt road dust control spraying)
Fuel Oil Companies

What other ways have you been marketing this product? Have you tried craigslist? Or have you sent out mailers? I bet you could get a lot of business owners that way as well.

I have it on Craigslist, eBay, and several other industry sites. I have also had brochures, postcards, and lawn signs made to promote it.
