John deere
has been a brand that i think that they stand behind their products, thats why i concidered a deere.

The tractor cost just over $2000.00. Has a 42 in deck, cruise, 21 hp engine. I got the bagger too. Cuts tall grass great. Mulch kit was also included. Haven't had a chance to try it in wet grass yet. I'll keep you posted.

Also, do you know what the lifespan is of that mower? How many hours it's rated for?

Hi Steve,

I looked in the manual and the service hours only go up to 2000 hrs. I don't know if thats the most hours they recomend. Any idea how long other people tractors have lasted? Not only john deere.

Hey Mike, congrats on the new mower.

To keep it under warrenty, does your dealer have to do all scheduled work?

Keep up with those oil changes and change the filter everytime, too.

What's the tranny? If it's hydrostatic, don't neglect changing the oil. If you ever notice a bad seal, get it fixed immediately. Grit will kill the pumps.

Nice mower

I am just wondering why you purchased a residential mower compared to the more heavy duty ones like the X300 and those machines.

I'm sure if you would of payed more, you could of got a motor with a v-twin engine into it.

Maybe a little tip to consider for those considering buying John Deere

2000 hours! That sounds high for a consumer model. Very interesting. I didn't know they were rated for such a long life.

I'm not quite sure but they got a 4 yr or 400 hrs warranty.. and that is alot for a mower like that

Why is there such a big difference between the models? One with 2,000 hours and the other with 400?
