Wink Bikini Crew

I am interested in starting a Bikini Crew. I can run it but have a hard time finding good looking girls willing to mow in this heat. It is not a easy job, and most pretty girls want it easy.

Lawn care business tips
Did you happen to do a little searching on here for the story on how Lee got international attention for doing this? WOW What a story it was!

What got you interested in offering this service?

I bet if you put out some feelers you could find some gals interested in doing it. Maybe try an ad in craigslist? Also, if you charge $60 or $70 for a normal sized yard I bet you would be able to pay well enough to attract some gals in college interested in making money.

What's your thoughts on it?

Default Quick revenue vs. Long-term reputation.

Hello MrsDotDirt:

Welcome to the forum.

I am interested in your idea of starting a bikini crew. There have been other lawn care companies which have started similar businesses. The ideas seem to generate initial publicity and revenue. However, I always wonder about their long-term efficacy.

Since you are a certified landscape designer, do you think it will hurt your reputation and your ability to be taken seriously in the business if you pursue such an avenue?

Steve, what are your thoughts on this? Have you kept up with other companies trying this angle?

Keith

Well from what we have seen in the past, it created a huge media frenzy.

Could it draw media attention? Sure.

You know what would be really cool, is if they used electric powered equipment and promoted a green alternative. Maybe they could take this and push this concept and it would sell easier to the media.

The gals could say, we are wearing our bikinis to bring attention to what every homeowner can do to cut down on greenhouse gases. Maybe a press conference could be held with the bikini staff laying on chairs on a beautiful lush lawn catching some rays as they charge the batteries of their solar powered equipment.

That would help potentially legitimize it more because the point of it would be to draw attention for a good cause instead of simply being a marketing gimmick, which it still would be.

Keith you do bring up a good point. My view on this is, if you want to go along with everyone, expect to get the same results as everyone. If you do something different, anything different, someone is going to find something to bash you. So, it's a choice you make.

I am in full support of those who want to make waves though and try something outrageous

Steve: Your quote referenced above is exactly the point I am making. What results have other companies that have attempted this angle experienced?

I honestly do not know if this idea works long term or if it has detrimental effects on a businessperson. Lee received amazing worldwide publicity. I would love him to drop by to tell us if the idea still works 1 year later.

What if the original poster expanded on her idea of adding certain sexiness to her business? Since she is a certified landscape designer, it would be neat to see her work this angle into her designs. How about very subtly designing landscapes that mimic the curves of a woman's body in a bikini? "SUBTLY" is the key here...nothing overt.

Steve, do you have ideas for her advertising? Do you remember the Budweiser girls? They were in their bikinis on a beach towel. Their figures mimicked the shape of the beer bottle (or vice versa).

Marketing books I have read discuss subliminal advertising. This is a fascinating area of study.

How about this as an image for an ad campaign: A girl in an organic looking bikini in work gloves and hedge shears in front of a landscape design that roughly mimics her.

The tag line could be something like: "Do you love your lawn enough?"

Well I have an all Organic Landscape Company. So we would be promoting what comes from Mother nature already. Everything we use is not harmful to humans or animals and improves your existing landscapes soil to make a healthier growing plant. If people would care more about what chemicals are out there and not use them. Then they wouldn't have to use so much energy making theses chemicals. How much would that save? Just a thought.

I am well spoken.
There are times when some men come up to me and don't take me seriously even when I am fully clothed. I have not tried this idea yet, but giving it some thought. Plus I need a tan and not the farmers tan. lol

About hurting my reputation. Not sure, I am sure the women will not like it much, but what guy wouldn't.

I am open to ideas and more suggestions.

I think I heard this on the news one time... may have been Lee on TV.

Keith you have some great ideas and points too. I am absorbing and will think of something more.

Good question. I don't know what the long term ability of this idea is.

Hmm, how about this off the top of my head. "Can't get to the beach this summer? Bring the beach to you."

"Hire the lawn care bikini gals to mow your lawn."

Then maybe have some of the crew in front of their mowers and put the image on door hangers or sending in postcards?
