rockford speedway go or no go

ok guys heres the deal i have been doing alot of thinkin of ways to get my name out there and i am a former oval track racer myself so i thought hey why not propose to mr. greg mckarnes the owner of the rockford speedway about mowing for him i was thinkin if i mow the proprety and take care of all the mowing trimming etc. then i could maybe advetise on the back stretch of the speedway i look at it like this how many of you have seen rockford speedway on speed tv that place gets crammed pack plus i would be getting my name on national tv well kinda lol but hey its ok for me to think that way right lots of people tell me im crazy its just to much but i look at it like this its awsome advertisment that really im paying very very little for my time and fuel and over a longer period of time i dont have to have up front cash to advertise i can use it on other methods of advertising what does everyone think of this idea is it a go or no go i figure me doing it myself im lookin maybe a full day of mowin if that here is the link to the speedway if anyone wants to check it out www.rockfordspeedway.com

Jeremy, That is a really good question. I found a picture on the internet I think of Rockford Speedway. Would you propose that you would have a sign like those in the top right of the picture? How long would it take you to service this property each week? How many times a month would you service the property?

yes that would be the rockford speedway and thats what im hoping for is a sign on the back stretch or on one of the ends i wanted to get everyones insite on this first and im guessing it would take me a full 8 hour day to do all of the property and probably mow like once a week im not really sure on that cause i know they are runnin some wensday shows now also which all in all this would be great cause i have tuesdays and thursdays open scheduling wise for like the landscape jobs etc. if i picked this up i think i would still be ok
look in the picture the stands are filled and the ones on the opposite side of the track are for pit crews only which i think they need to open that up too more money and people just my thoght though

Id be all OVER that, my company name on the infield!

I think its a great idea, but what are the demographics of the people that attend dirt track races. Is that typically the type of person that hires lawn companies.

Now say you had a liqor store, I would for sure do that.

Please dont take this post as a put down on the "race fans" I like racing, I am blue collar, as most race fans are, and most blue collar folk do their own work.

Also not trying to discourge you from this idea, just wanted you to think about where your target audience.

this is an asphalt track and it is nascar sanctioned ther are alot of very high dollar teams that race there that is why im not racing there cause my pockets do have bottoms and i cant afford to keep up with them like that so my thinkin is if they can afford thesae big olsemi rigs then there house is probably pretty nice and they would pay for it

I think you should try it out maybe for a month initially and see how things go. I'd hate to see you get locked into something that you couldn't get out of for the season.

This could work! However we all got to keep in mind that this is basically 4 days a month of work. So if you were charging $50 an hour for your services. The amount of lost revenue would each (($50 x 8 hours) x 4 days) = $1600 in lost revenue per month.

I do hope you will keep track of where your customers initially heard of you when you start getting phone calls to see if it is from this ad.

I bet you could make a stencil to make your lawn painting faster as well.
