post / flyer cards seem to be working for me as I mentioned in my other post. I think a website with seo work might bring in some clients too. I'm not sure how it would work for landscaping but some one should try it :-)

David,

Especially when you are just getting started, business cards are very helpful and craigslist.

My goal is to have a full time businiess in 2 years. Also I want to have more customers than I can handle. I want to hire 3 emplyees eventualy when I go full time.
I want stand out from my Commpetitor's by being the best in my region, and be well known for my customer service, quallity work, and being very professional.
Another goal I have Is to be able to help the kids in need in my community. I would like to be able to raise $10,000 for the special needs kids and their schools. Hopefully I'll be able to do all this. If its Gods will he'll bless my businiess and my family.

Can you tell us more about this goal? Where did this come from and if you have any thoughts on how you might go about doing this?

I am intrigued!

David,

Just starting out, here are the marketing methods I would suggest.

First, avoid anything that requires long-term commitments like phone directory ads. At some point it MIGHT be a worthwhile investment, but definitely NOT just starting out.

Second, you want to pick the methods that allow you to target your prospective customers with laser targeted accuracy. You can't afford to spend money on anything you don't know for sure will end up in the hands of your prospects.

This really leaves you with flyers, sales letters, postcards, door hangers, etc. The reason these are so effective is because you control the message and the delivery of such.

Plus, you're able to distribute them as your budget permits.

In terms of distribution, identify a target market you want to penetrate and create a list that allows you to communicate with them consistently for the next 10-12 months.

Now, I'll probably get a lot of flack for this but if your goal is to become the dominant player in your market, it's important to contact your target market consistently with information and offers. That way, you'll create some name recognition while adding new customers.

Finally, a website is quickly becoming a critical component of any successful marketing campaign. Fortunately, there are plenty of resources available that allow you to get a website up and running very quickly and with very little out of your pocket.

Chestin,

As we attract new members that may or may not know the services you offer. If David was looking to you to help him scale up his marketing, what products or services of yours would you suggest he utilize to build his business.

I'd really like the readers to know the options you can offer them, so they can make a better educated decision when it comes to their marketing campaign.
