I was wondering what you guys get in the Carolinas for regular cutting weekly during the season. Do you invoice by the month etc.? also Prices 4 other services; pressure washing, gutter cleaing, fertilizing, aerating, tree service etc..

The sizes I was wondering were for:
1/8 acre
1/4 acre
1/2 acre
and per acre charge for large lawns.

I am just trying to get a sampling of averages.

Any help is appreciated.

Lawn care business tips
Hi David,

One of the things we have seen other lawn care business owners do to get an idea of what the going rates are in their community is to either call a few local lawn care business owners to bid on your property or have a friend or family member do this.

3 bids should help you get your compass set as to what the going rates are.

Here are a few links to older posts in my blog on

Aeration - http://lawnchat.com/?cat=56

Tree Removal - http://lawnchat.com/?cat=62

Does this help?

WOW! Now that's a sign! If you answer your phone in your area, you are going to have a competitive advantage.

Yeah I know right ! there are a lot of guys in my area who have a truck, tralier, and mower. I see them everywhere when im out but they dont do much more than that, no signs, or much advertisement, and there not that professional. They have signs on posterboards at local stores, Bob's Lawn service, "$25 cuts your yard" etc... And the businisess's in the yellow pages don't answer. I think I have a good opportunity here! I get my yard signs fri i'll try to send some pics.

hello all, I just started a lawn care service also here in NC. I have had a few people do my own yard in the past before i started my business, so in a way im using their prices are a base line.

so far i seen prices as low as $25 for 1/2 acre and as high as $65. Many of my neighbors have told me they are paying 35 just for basic service. (cut and trim). I was paying 45 for my .62 acre yard also for basic service. So right now im shooting between 40-45 as my base price. Which i dont think is lowballing since its higher than the lowest i've seen but not as high as the highest. Hope this helps.

D.

PS: I do give a discount on the price if im gonna do it weekly than bi-weekly.

weekly 35 (140 per month)
bi-weekly 45 (90 per month)
one time cut 55 (55 per month)
