I just had a talk with a business owner the other day who told me about how his wife ran her own business that was unrelated from lawn care.

Does your gf/wife/significant other, run a business? If so what kind and what has your experience been with that? Has it been helpful or not?

"My little woman runs a cleaning service. Has been doing it for 10 years, does quite well and it also gives me possible leads for lawn care.
I have acquired 2 additonal commerical accounts due to her business.
Physician office
Church account
This has given me the opportunity to choose any additional accounts that may come my way. You get to a point when you have the nickel and dimers you just say no."

"My wife also runs a cleaning service business. She is getting into being a real estate agent now though. This will make it alot easier to look at investment properties. I won't have to call someone else who is to busy."

Very helpful, wife is in the food service business and also runs with me doing seeding. She is sharp on the marketing and I give her all the credit to making the Hydroseeding business take off as well as it has. Between the both of us we have over 45 years of business but she is the marketing/advertising queen. Can't say enough about her.

My wife is an Interior Designer. She has been in business for about 15 years. She is the conservative one keeping my spending under control. But she stands behind me in all my business ventures offering advice when I need it. Since we often mention each others business, when we go to look at a project, we often have the same customers. We make a good team.

My wife runs a franchise business here in East Melbourne called Twinkle Toes. Basically it is baby hand and feet sculptures that she makes and frames them.

The useful part was reading the franchise agreement and seeing what you can and can't do. All these franchise companies appear to be very strict on regions you can work in plus they always take a nice fee.

Certainly helped me in my decision to be an independent.
