Another teenager.

I have homeowner equipment. *

What's the smallest truck I should buy if I'm hauling a 42" Huskee and a 33" Craftsman on a 5' by 10'?

S10?
Ranger?
Tacoma?
1500?

I am using a Dodge Dakota sport to pull my equipment as we speak. It works good. It just ain't big enough for a plow though

Hi Calab,

I use a Ranger edge v6, to tow a 6'x12' single axle enclosed trailer with a 900 lb 52" yazoo kees & all related equipment. Total trailer weight is about 3,000 lbs. This is right at the max I can safely tow with this truck. I had to add coil over shocks to assist with the load in the rear.
Plus side is better mileage when not towing
Downside is only 9-10 mpg while towing
a full size truck w/v8 would likely do better & it's tough on the transmision to tow so much.
I plan to upgrade it this year but it did get me started!
Hope this helps!

A full size 1/2 ton most likely. Extended cab v8 make is not terribly important though probably a ford.

I found out today that the new Ford Rangers can haul 5600LBS so thats what I am going to get since the cost of gas is going up to near 4.00 a gallon.

I started this business because I can't stand working for a wage. I have to hold my success or failure in my own hands.

Given, If you calculate the hours I've put into "working" on my lawn business, it would be less profit than if i'd been working at Burger King. But.... you just wait.

Also, my brother had a (very) small lawn business for about two years. I'm using some of his left over equipment.

I'm not going to buy an 08. I only have about 5,500 to work with.

I've got a tahoe now, but it sucks gas and isn't practical.
