Name brand weed & feed products?

I saw this photo of inflatables that promote Vigoro lawn care products for point of purchase marketing events & promotions and I was wondering. Will customers pay a premium for the use of specific name brand chemicals? Is that at all a possible upsell or do customers not care?

hehe vigoro...what do you relate that too first? Anyways, I used 'Scotts' turfbuilder only for a few years and promoted it. But it didn't seem to build attention, not many clients cared what I used...just as long as it worked.

Yea it is a funny name.

I wonder if it would be worth it at all for these chemical companies to get lawn care operators to promote their products with advertising on their trucks. Or possibly in their mailers.

I'm trying something with AGGRAND organic fertilizers hope it works like I think it will.

How do you think your marketing differs from others who dont use organic?

Is it a tougher sell? Do you need to educate the consumer more?

First we have them with links to there site on every page and our Lawn Care page is totally about organic fertilizers. We are receiving their logo truck signs to be placed and we have inserted their logo and we provide “ORGANIC FERTILIZER” services on all mailers/flyers/handouts.

As far as marketing goes, this stuff almost sells itself, I have seen 4 customers this week and all 4 signed up for full service programs, (cut, mulch, ferts, etc.) 3 of witch were TruGreen customers and 1 Scotts customer.

As far as selling this it is quite easy for me, other areas may have trouble with it. By this I mean that if you live where the population is lower (say under 20k) and I’m not saying it wont work there and out in the country probably going to be a hard sale. If you live in the more populated (over 30k) areas then its going to be easier, these areas are proven enviro-safe educated areas, as more and more people are concerned about the enviro, plus in a 50 mile geographic area of location there is only one other person is offering Organic Fertilizer *services. It’s an easy up sell from cutting and you can add the services to the cutting clients you already have, it’s a win win.


Note: The 4 new customers puts my CPI to 29.667% I have almost reached the goal of 33% or more for 2008.

Could AGGRAND organic fertilizers use more sales people to help promote their products? Maybe they could give you some sort of deal if you turned more lawn care operators on to these products through this site!

Organics are becoming more and more of satple in my business

So tell me more is this Aggrand, It's a liquid fertilizer isn't it? Is the NPK rating similar to regular lawn fertilizers? Is the application easy, just a hose and applicator attachment?
Sounds like a great thing to offer to be safe for everyone, and hey, I wouldn't need an applicators license, correct?
