What trade magazines do you read?

I have read many of them. it seems to me they tend to rehash the same topics over and over again. Like how many times can we read an article on the differences between purchasing and leasing?

Do you ever get the feeling these publishers water down the articles so as to not make them too complicated while at the same time they are watering down their educational value as well?

Well, I get that I know off 3 magazines (a tree one, turf one, and sports management one), that are owned by the same publishing company and same editor. The editorial is the exact same in each one except that they change around the wording slightly to go with that particular magazine, but a lot of times the exact same articles are in all of the magazines. Talk about cheap.

I currently only find about 1 or 2 magazines informative out of approx 12-15 that I receive each month

If I had to choose one that I liked the best, I think I would go with Lawn & Landscape.

What would be your favorite?

I am not putting a plug in for anybody here but the mags I read are

- Pro 'Business Success for Landscape Professionals' - this one is a great read with awesome editorials from successfull people in the trade. Really inspiring and has great product reviews.

- Landscaping and Groundskeeping - this one is more of a product mag, but also has some good articles on business.

- Horticulture Review - this is a Landscape Ontario publication and showcases new ideas in the trade, what is hot and local businesses.

There are other trade mags we get however they are just more advertising then anything.
