Lawn care business tips
I think they look awesome...I love your logo too.

Are you having them printed somewhere for you? And if so, how much are they costing you?

Hi Richard,

I think they look great. The only thing I could think of was this. People may actually cut out the coupon and save it. But there is no phone number or web address on the coupon. Do you want there to be one? Is this a concern?

I bet a lot of business owners are wondering, how will you distribute them? Will they all go out at once or multiple times to the same people? When will they start to go out?

XcelPrinting.com is doing them for me. Great customer service and helped me through the whole process. They are going to be a gloss on both sides on 100# gloss book paper (very nice paper). And his services include folding them for me too! I thought I was going to have to fold 5000 flyers

Thanks for the compliment on my logo (I do logo design if you need it).

Steve...I know I was thinking of the same thing too. The coupon is just designed to get some calls coming in really. But good point...I'll have to get that done on the next one.

I'll be sending them out by carrier mail. I have all of the postal routes and they charge me 11.2 cents per flyer delivered. This will be a one time hit. I considered going in two waves but I really want to hit spring in one big bang. They'll go out as soon as I get them. Aiming for the last week in March.

The flyers look great, Richard!

You did all the designing yourself right? I can't wait to see how they work out for ya. I hope you get lots of calls.

So, approximately how much is this costing you? Including everything form the printing, mailing, etc. Even the time that you put into making them.

Thanks

Hey Luke,

Yes I designed the whole flyer myself. I was able to download a layout template from Jon at XcelPrinting.com and it helped me out a lot...letting me know where the trimlines and bleedlines are.

LOL...well I didn't keep track of my time...you know me, I want to make sure it is perfect. Probably spent over 10 hours making it...good thing I didn't have to pay someone to do it.

The whole thing is looking around $1000.00 give or take to send out this spring promotion.

Richard,

Could you also tell us a little about d.p.i. resolution in your marketing material.

I know a lot of business owners would like to put together their own marketing material but they don't understand the resolution needed in their pictures or graphics, to have it 'print ready.'

What resolution do you use in your graphics?

Hi Guys,
I would like to point out the cost for printing 5000 full colr tri-fold brochures isn't $1000, if you go to my website xcelprinting.com you can view prices for anything you need printed.....However, for you guys here at the GopherHual community I will offer some discounts that do not appear on the website.

I have a Price Match Guarantee and do my best to have the most competitive prices on the internet.

So if you ever find a better price let me know where and I can do my best to match or beat it...but remember you guys here in this forum will get a discount of some sort not advertised on my site, so definetly take advantage.

Also guys I have a very extensive Help Center on the site to answer any and all questions you may have regarding File Preperation, Images, Resolution, etc., feel free to go there, browse around, have a look at the glossary.

I hope you guys find it helpful, should anyone have any questions don't hesitate to ask....oh, and tell your friends (lol)

Jon,

I just checked out your site.

Answer:

Resolution also known as DPI (Dots Per Inch) can be described as the number of dots that fit horizontally and vertically into a one-inch space. Generally, the more dots per inch, the more detail captured and the sharper the resulting image. For an image to print properly, the image must be at least 300 dots per inch (dpi) at the final output size.
Question:

What resolution is needed for my job?
Answer:

For most printing jobs, 300 dots per inch (DPI) is the minimum resolution to guarantee acceptable printing results. For larger products such as large format posters and banners, we recommend sharper resolution which can range from 300 to 1200 dpi, depending on the intended use of the printed piece.
That is some very interesting information.

How do you suggest the average lawn care business owner go about getting a 300 to 1200 dpi image of a house?

Richard, did you take those pictures or did you purchase them? What are your suggestions on this?
