I know that the thread was started by spam, but it brings up an interesting question. Is there such a thing as free webhosting?

Yes, but....
web hosting is so inexpensive now a days that for a biz you should really have a quality hosting company and just pay the few bucks for it. Free hosting comes with too many limitations and in most cases ad's. Besides if they are free...how are they going to be around in a year? Who's going to pay for the electric, Internet connection, servers, tech support, etc.

You can get 1 year for about $40 with more space and bandwidth than you will ever need.
(as well as all the usuall's...like email, forwarding, stats, etc.)

Godaddy is who i would recommend.
