When you reflect on the people you know, how many of them are passionate about anything? Do any of them stand out and if so, what would you say they are passionate about?

What about you? What would you say you are passionate about?

Lawn care business tips
I have found the majority of the population are creatures of habit, they get up go to work pay bills and do the same thing over and over. They follow the same routes and hang with the same friends and do the same things. Generally they’re not passionate about anyone thing and aren’t concerned about any one thing. If asked about Global Warming and the Green Effect or even Gun Control and Health Care, they may or may not have an opinion, seems they only care about them selves and the moment. The new generation wants everything now not latter and believes it is owed to them and they don’t need to earn it the way I and many others have within my age group. My age group is the beginning of this type of generation, as I look back, I was the same way. When I was 20 I told my mother I would fully retire at the age of 45, I have done this at the age of 43, but I’m not fully retired and with a few set backs during my 30’s, I still plain to be, by the age 50 be 100% retired. Just like the syndicated radio host Earl Pitts say’s “Wake UP America” catch a breath of reality people, you learn and earn from experience not someone handing it to you. Mommy isn’t here to pick up the mess after you, she can’t kiss the big boo-boo and make it all better when you fall on your face and you will so man up and move on, learn from it. This new generation thinks “oh well” if they screw up. They are like this because mommy never made them take responsibility for their actions and handed them everything they trough a temper tantrum about when they were younger. People have become too liberal, even in everyday life.

At the age of 20 (now 23) my son like may others, after hopping from job to job trying to find his thing, he joined the U.S. Army, went in as a CALVERY SCOUT, (life expectancy less than 30 sec. in any fire fight) weighing in at only 110# he was asked by the “NEW ARMY” to carry 90# of battle gear, he did this with no complaints. Just before his 18th week of training while taking a physical the Doctors found sever stress fractures in both knees and both ankles, the Doctor reported this to his CO and he started med-discharge paper work, my son had denied it. His Drill Sgt. called me directly and explained what was going on. He passed every physical demand and training exercise top of his platoon. He ended the grenades exercises early by throwing it into the cab of the target, blowing the truck up on the first throw. Shot a perfect 40 of 40 not once but 3 consecutive times. His last exercise was a 12k with full battle gear he finished second with these stress fractures. He was at Ft. Knox here in Kentucky. The 12k was not on roads or paths it was through the steep river bluffs and thick woods. On the overnight with no gear or supplies he was his squads leader and (6 men) was the only out of 20 squads to survive the drill, all other where simulated kill or captures, his squad was the only one that captured or killed the Drill Sgt’s. This was told to me by his CO and during the family day event where he was commentated for his superior achievements. He is a son, father and fixture of the community.

My oldest daughter is 21 she is in college full time studying medicine, she works full time job as the office manager for an OB-GYN Group. She is also a mother. She Graduated High School with Honors. She has always known what she wanted and knew what to do to achieve it. She is a daughter, mother and fixture of the community.

My youngest daughter is 17 she is in high school, plays sports and active in school functions, and does well in her grades. She hunts, fish and does what most 17 year old girls do.

The boy isn’t the one to watch out for, it’s the girls they are ruthless and will shoot the eyes out of anything. They put up with no BS and will give none and will read you your pedigree in a heart beat.

My Grand daughters are special in every aspect of the way. They are a joy to have around, spoil rotten and send home to mom and dad. LOL this is our payback to our children, becoming Grand Parents!

Family is what I’m passionate about!

My OBSESSION is a whole other story. It starts with hunting, fishing, shooting sports and gun dogs and doesn’t end there. If it has to do with being outdoors I’m in! All my kids hunt, shoot, fish and enjoy the outdoors.

I’m also passionate about my obsession!

Thank you,
Hunt Hard, Hunt Safe and take a kid!

Tim

P.S. If you take your kids hunting and fishing you wont be hunting or fishing for your kids!

Great insight Tim!

Do you think you would enjoy running a business that involved the hunting or fishing industry? Can you take a hobby or interest you are passionate about and turn it into a business or would that take the passion out of it?

In 1998 I started a Hobby called Darkwoods Outdoors and a video series calles Real HUntin' like a said it was a hobby and sponsors in the industry are the hardest to get, because every bozo with a hunting license and gun thinks they know it all and talk big stories about nothing. I killed my first deer at the age of 9 with a bow it was 1974 and deer were not here like they are today. I know Ted Nuggent ( he is just crazy), Bill Jordan (knowing bill isn't saying much I do congradulate him on his clothing line sucess but as a hunter he can't hit the broad side of a barn if he was standing inside it, if you only knew, lol) Harold Knight and David Hale are great guys. Most of the others are copycats and only follow what others have done and taught and try to make it their own. So basicly it is these copycats that have ruined the business. Will Primos and Cus Strickland are like Knight & Hale they are pioneers of the game call industry. The young bozo's working for them are a joke. If you only knew what and how they get all this video of these hunts you would be toltally shocked and laugh your butt off. All they show is Hunter in tree stand hunter shoots BIG BUCK and then they are the greatest hunters ever. It is all a lie! for the most of it.

I am a
Master Instructor for the Kentucky Dept of Fish & Game for the Hunter Education Program.
Instructor for the Archery in School Programs.
Certied Instructor for LONG range rifle. Sniper Quilified.
(One Shot, One Kill)
Instructor for Women of the Outdoors
Kentucky State Champion in 2000 IBO (Archery) High Score shooter.
Ohio and Indiana State shooter runner up in 2000
Fifth District High Score Shooter long range rifle
National IBO top 10 5 straight years. 98-02'
The list goes on and on.

My son shoot left handed and shot 40-40 3 straight time during rifle quilifing and shot 39-40, 40-40 and 38-40 shooting right handed, had 1 missfire and 1 jam on the last set. Not bad shooting at 300+m open hard sights 30+ croos wind and having someone standing over them yelling.

My list of cridentials goes on and on.

So as a hobby I only do videos and game calls for family and friends. I have a website that runs Oct through Dec. and April to June. http://www.darkwoodsoutdoors.com Mostly for family and friends they get a kick out of it. I was listed and still am as a Producer on the Sportsman Channel. In 1999 I logged over 145 days afield taping hunts. In 2000 I logged over 200 days of hunts (Turkey & Deer combined) and since then I have cut back to only taping family hunts. It is more fun to just have it as a hobby. So yes it does take away from it if you let it.

Probably more info then asked for.
