Have you heard of many business owners leaving their lawn care business to join the military?

This couple is doing just that.

Young parents close their business and join military - Amanda wants to be a nurse. Or a paramedic or, as she puts it, anything in the medical field. So she joined the National Guard for the educational benefits.

Not only does she plan to serve as a medic in the Guard, but she hopes to use the military's college payment option to get a degree after her time in the Guard comes to an end.

While both seem happy with the choices they've made - they closed up a somewhat lucrative lawn care business in order to join the National Guard - there are some loose ends to be sewn up.
