It pays to send out press releases. Check out this business profile article on Tiger Turf! How would you like to be showcased like this in your local paper. You can! Put together an outline and a picture and send it to your local newspaper. There are plenty of times when a newspaper needs content for their paper and the easier you make it for them, the better your chances are of getting noticed. Plus it's FREE!

Business profile: Tiger Turf - Frank Baumstark gets great satisfaction from a job well done. He and his wife, Michelle Baumstark, own the lawn care and landscaping business Tiger Turf, and one of Frank's favorite parts of the job is enjoying the end result. When he drives by a client's property and sees the even stripes in the lawn, he thinks, "‘Wow, did we do that?'" he said. "That's what makes my day. My guys did a good job on that property. It's pretty simple for me."

With a striping kit Matt, Pretty much a big toller mounted behind the deck or behind the mower in some cases that pushes the grass over in the direction of travel. When going opposite direction the grass lays the other way & the light reflects differently off of it. End result is stripes.

Check this link for a kit on ebay for example:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws....hosting

Wow long link!

If you read the article, it says

"Tiger Turf now has eight employees, including three crew leaders and one general manager, and a base of 200 properties."

The owner still works a job in medical sales! WOW

Do you think you could or would have a lawn care business of that size and still have another job?

wow 200 properties, that would be more then enough to keep me busy..

So now I have another question.. (I hope it's ok that I am asking them in this thread) but would you use a striping kit for small yards in a city, or are people not going to care or want them?

Thanks for your help too :-)

honestly I've never used one. I don't even know if it would work on very well on most of the turf types common here in Florida? Come to think of it, I can't say I've ever seen it used down here by anyone? Has anyone ever tried them on southern turf? Floritam? St. Augustine?
