Default Feeling a bit frustrated on my commercial purchase

Well I bought the exmark 30 last may an has about 250hoirs on it. I loved the mower and it fits my current needs. Now with the warranty spindle issue it had been in the shop 4 times.
Drive cable
Clunky transmission
Doesn't engage ( drive belt came off) does this just happen out of the blue
Spindle warrant
Doesn't drive full power ( drive cable not adjusted )

Call me crazy but after paying 2k on something I expect a hit more!
Crap could have went the other way and bought two toros time cutters from Home Depot.

Well googus, that worries me since I bought the same mower in 10/13 and haven't put it through any real world work as yet. Hopefully you will get the kinks worked out of it and it will do well for you. The only other negative thing I've seen to date was the recall on the blades last year.

Maybe I need a backup just in case...,

WOW it had been in the shop 4 times for spindle problems? Was it replaced each time?

No the spindle was never broken just a recall under warranty.
See above.
It just make me concern about upgrading to the exmark quest with the commercial hydrostatic and fabricated deck!
I don't think spending that kind of money on a "commercial" mower I should have these issues with low hours.
Crap my 6year old 300 Troy bilt 21in residential has had zero problems.

I bought one of the new 30" Toro Turffmaster in the spring of 2013... It has been great no problems at all but the recall they sent out. I would buy another one

It can be frustrating buying new equipment, more so with commercial grade that is so-called built to last and you have issues that need to be serviced by a authorized service dealer when it comes to warranty repairs. I was tossed up between getting either the exmark 30 or the toro 30 turf master (commercial). Both were more or less 2K each. These units are pricey for what they are and is it really worth the cost to get either one. I wasnt sure if I would really like a 30 push mower over a 33 inch belt drive walk behind for smaller yards. Some of these yards require bagging so I prefer a mower with a rear bagger.

I ended up getting a toro 30 timemaster (residential) for 1K to test out to see if I would even like these type of mowers. I figured if I liked it, I could sell it and put the money towards one of the commercial versions. Funny thing is I used it all summer with no problems. I saved myself a thousand bucks over the commercial versions and I plan on using it again this year. Its paid for so why not just use it again instead of upgrading.

Wink Talk of the century

These are the most controversial mowers I have seen in 15 years.
They are the best, worst, greatest, junks that everyone should have to,throw away, to buy a new one I have ever seen.

I can get the toro residential for $875.0 if we take volume and I can't seem to do it myself because there are 1000's of threads and most say trouble. Trouble in a new design mower that fills such a small market that they shouldn't have a trouble one. And in my opinion they can't afford to have as a company.
Let's be honest if they fix the engine power and 4-5 other things they would be a go get'em mower but they say it would then compete with the walkbehind markets, which tells me the company has no plans to fix the issues only to cheap down their names as leaders in the industry.

I just spent a lot of time in a lengthy thread that was talking about the exmark comm. 30". The threads were all users. Some had bought one unit for their company and then went out and bought more. Doesn't exactly sound like a piece of crap. Or maybe they are all just stupid and need someone to tell them they really bought junk. And the pics posted regarding the very nice cuts, meh, who knows where they came from.

I'll reserve judgement on the mower until I use it extensively (soon, I hope). Then I'll post a review as to the quality or lack thereof for this mower.
