Default My First mailing!

We had VistaPrint make us some business cards which we pass out and leave on public boards in area's we want to get into. Then we had VistaPrint print us letterhead that matched the cards.

I used one of the templates I found on this forum, (http://www.gopherforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=34) modified it, and printed on the home pc printer and put them in the mailbox today! So excited to see the results.

I only mailed out 18 but they were 18 businesses we believe would benefit from our services.

Lawn care business tips
Congrats on the first mailing!

You may want to look into sending out a lot more...a few thousand should do it to start off.

I wish you luck!

What did the mailing consist of? That link is directed to all the templates.

oh man! I'm still in "the box!" a few thousand just blew my mind lol!!!
THINK BIG THINK BIG THINK BIG

Here was my plan: I drove down a stretch of hwy near my house and picked out flat non eventful lots of businesses that would be a quick easy service and build from there. I also included a few local churches for the exact same reason.

I used the "get ready for spring letter
modified it a little here's the basic gist:

owner name
address

Dear owner name,

So far its been a rather mild winter in Green Country, windy, frosty temperatures, and a small amount of snow. Now is a great time to start thinking about lawn care needs for the school grounds.

I printed these on my home pc printer on the custom letterhead from VistaPrint since it matches my business cards.

I have a letter that I'm going to send out to a few apartment complexes in hopes that I can gain some extra big business.

I've been handing out fliers while working on yards in that residential area.

Also been knocking door to door making direct contact with people and pointing out that they have work that needs done, and finding out if they have any plans on getting it done. Letting them know I'm the guy who can handle the work, I provide them with my contact information and tell them I'm there for them when ever they need my service.

That is great! I think you are going to have to hit a lot more people a lot more times. If you can meet with them in person, that will be a lot better for you than mailing alone.

So keep at it and scale it up as you go.

I look forwards to hearing more of your updates.

Default update

So it's been a week since "THE mailing" Tuesday I noticed a LCO working one of the businesses I mailed to & received 1 return to sender with "no mail receptacle" reason. I received 1 email reply, which will be working into a client in a few weeks.

more updates to come...

And this is out of the 18 you sent out in total?

How is this response effecting your further marketing plan?

I received a call yesterday from what is going to be a good commercial account for us. Just working the details out. I guess I was expecting instant results...
