in a new marketplace flooded with lawn and landscape contractors what is your thoughts and suggestion on picking up some customers for mowing and reeling them in to choose you? there are so many in my area what do you do to make your company name stand out. Sure word of mouth is great but truely getting started with 0 customers how do you do it?

go bid on the stuff they cant handle ie: shopping malls, large apartment complexes, condo associations, etc.

Great post to the link! How do you get registered with google? not the ppc (pay per click) but just have your business name type up when someone neters lawn care or landscaping

You need to join google places and register your business, also submit your website to the search engine

Then do the same for yahoo and bing

Also are you marketing yourself to people you know? Those might be your best first customers. Friends, family, neighbors, friends of friends etc.

It's a lot easier to sell to people you know than those you don't.

how do you get your business listed on the first page of google or yahoo? is there something u can do so you will pop up on the first page instead of the 2nd or 3rd?

Make sure you have relivent keywords

Use googles keyword tool to get a bunch here:

Also make sure you use the towns and zipcodes you service as keywords, also be sure to include all the services you offer.

Also, google places is on the 1st page so listing on that is a must.

Also get backlinks from other sites with those key search words, linking back to your site.
