Is this not the craziest thing you have seen yet?

Rick Popp describes his experience with a wrongful lawsuit regarding a lawnmower his company sold. "It's really something we shouldn't have had to do, we shouldn't have had to have worried about.

Lawn care business tips
Said it cost him $10K in lawyers fees. At an average of $150 per hour, that would mean about 66.6 hrs of legal work.

All makes me curious as to what the other side of the story is if that much work was involved.

Oh yea! I'd like to read the filings on that lawsuit. I mean from the video it seems to be an open and shut case. Very interesting!

I don't know who's more to blame anymore. The people that come up with these stupid lawsuits or the judges that award them.

I know! I just can't believe a judge would rule a person could buy a lawnmower, use it for a season and then want a refund!

Yeah that is crap, people shouldn't have deal with that kinda stuff.... *There was a woman a few years ago in Ca. I think bought a brand new $100k *RV. *Got on the highway set the cruise & got up out of the drivers seat! * Got in a huge reck, totally destroyed her new RV & other cars I belive sued & won stating they didn't tell her IT WAS CRUISE CONTROL NOT AUTOPILOT! *

I recieved this email not long ago, check it out.

Subject: Another reason to hate lawyers

Charlotte, North Carolina;

A lawyer purchased a * box of very rare and *expensive cigars, then *insured them against, among other things, fire.

Within a month, having smoked his entire stockpile of these great cigars and without yet having made even his first *premium payment on the policy the lawyer filed a claim against the insurance company.

In his claim, the lawyer stated the cigars were lost "in a series of small fires." The insurance company refused to pay, citing the obvious reason, that the man had consumed the cigars in the normal fashion.

The lawyer sued and WON!

Delivering the ruling, the judge agreed with the insurance company that the claim was frivolous. The judge stated nevertheless, that the lawyer held a policy from the company, which it had warranted that the cigars were insurable and also guaranteed that it would insure them against fire, without defining what is considered to be unacceptable fire" and was obligated to pay the claim.

Rather than endure lengthy and costly appeal process, the insurance *company accepted the ruling and paid $15,000 to the lawyer for his loss of the cigars lost in the "fires".

NOW FOR THE BEST PART..

After the lawyer cashed the check, the insurance company had him arrested on 24 counts of ARSON!!!

With his own insurance claim and testimony from the previous case being *used against him, the lawyer was convicted of intentionally burning his insured property and was sentenced to 24 months in jail and a $24,000 fine.

This is a true story and was the First Place winner in the recent Criminal Lawyers Award Contest.

ONLY IN AMERICA!
