Default Trucks 1/2 ton or 3/4 (Diesel or Gas)

When I first started out I had a F150 and it was having a hard time with my cargo trailer. At that time I had a 60" ZTR and a 44" ZTR plus trimmers, blowers, etc.

I now have two 3/4 ton trucks, one F250 King Ranch, and the other 2500 Chev. Both of my trucks are Diesel and crew cab. As we all know fuel cost are an issue and not sure if I should go to gas due that I do not think they will last as long. Thoughts....

Say what? ? ? Save money with gas?
diesel cost 10% more (gas $3.70 diesel $3.99)
diesel gets 30%+ better mileage
Diesels cost more to buy but less to run.
I could not run anything under a one ton and now i have a dump i am not going back

that sounds about right. When I picked up that skid steer, I took my friends duramax. We drove 750 miles off of 40 gallons. One way with a 16ft trailer the other way with 2100lbs skid. Even my 5.3,5.4, would only get 15mpg max highway without pulling a trailer.

I started my business 1 1/2 years ago with my 3/4 ton F250 SD extra cab 4X4 diesel PU this truck does everything I need.

I am now looking to purchase a second truck looking for an older 1996 F150 standard cab long box 4X4 in-line 300 6 engine auto transmission = good fuel mileage and lots of low end torque perfect for towing my 6'X12' 3500lbs GVW trailer.

I'm also looking at purchasing a third trailer now = a 7'X14' tandem axle dump 14,000lbs GVW for the bigger jobs I now do.

I currently use a 1500 suburban with a 6.0 (same engine in the 2500) it will tow but it burns gas when I drove to ohio to drop off the camper with my dad we got 13 miles per gallon ( camper whieghs 6000 + thru highway and mountains) and we had a tuner to give the best fuel milage I say stick with the deisel.
