Which would be describe you? Do you think business owners tend to be more rebels or do they do a better job at following direction?

Which trait is important or are they both?

That is a very good question. At first I would say is it something one identifies with.

When I looked up a literal definition of it, I came up with this.

1. opposing or taking arms against a government or ruler

2. disobedient

I would describe myself as someone who thinks outside the box. Theres always more than one solution to a problem. I wouldn't say I'm a rebel, cause that denotes a bad attitude, i picture like a gothic looking teenager... black hair, black finger nails... etc. But I dont think someone who owns their own business is a rule follower either. If they did follow the rules, they would probably follow a more secure career path, not risk it all doing something they love. This is the reason I voted neither.

It does amaze me. I think it shows that many of our forum members are very logical thinkers.

I tend to think you need to be a little crazy to go off and start a business because so much is against you.

Sure there are people who are surrounded by others who really support their idea to start a business, but from my experience, I think there is negative support for it.

I think the average person takes a lot of grief from many people when they talk about starting their own business. From their friends and family.

I could be wrong, but I think it's part of the purpose this forum serves. It's a place where you can go to talk with like minded people. Entrepreneurs. 'The crazy ones.'

What's your take? Am I off on this?
