BioDiesel Mowers? Would you buy one?

But they're also expensive, at $1,89 JP Patten spends his weekdays teaching doctors how to use computers in operating rooms. But come the weekend, he spends hours taking apart and rebuilding engines for lawn mowers in a Davie warehouse. The Pompano Beach entrepreneur envisions the lawn mowers ** which run on biodiesel fuel made from waste grease from fryers ** cutting grass in homes and businesses across the country. If the fuel was readily available and also if the machine was time tested. Then I would consider it.

How much of a premium would you be willing to pay over the standard gas engine price for this?

Right now, I am sure one of the things holding this business back is the price.

hmm depends. in your first post you said it was $1.89. is that really $1,890? Well on a $1,100 mower thats not all that bad. but still too much for business trying to run lean. maybe if they wanted to have it as an advertising gimic, it wont fly.

Now what i'd to see is him to make a retro kit. that we can do ourselves. and say only cost like $300 for a push mower. And we do it ourselves. Now i would do that.

That is a very good point because most every lawn care business owner should be able to install such a kit.

Do you think using this as a marketing gimmick would be worth it now?

Would that give you an edge over other lawn care businesses?
