For flyers and invoices, etc, paper is fine. Just put them in an envelope and shove it in the mailboxes.

Or, are you talking about driveway markers, to know where to stay when plowing/blowing?

Wow, I got called out! You posted before you were a partner, but got fired. A bit confused on that...usually an owner doesnt get fired, unless he owns 49% and a buy out happens. But anyway...

Your question was on lawn signs for snow removal. Heres what I think. At 13 years old, your market is limited, unless someone wants to drive you around. Or subcontract (highly unlikely for your age...sorry). The best bet is to hold off, or offer to shovel walkways. Come up with a good game plan for next year on mowing to build a customer base. Wait until you have a drivers license and you can offer plowing. Keep it simple for now. Part of my time in the Marine Corps was a CQB instructor (google it)...one thing I preached- slow is smooth, smooth is fast. Take it slow, grasp more knowledge, and you'll grow. Cheese brought up a good point with mailboxes, but in the US it's illegal to put anything without a postage stamp in a mailbox. It's actually illegal to open one that doesnt belong to you.

Come up with a game plan, write down your goals.

If you're on a budget, the best way to make fliers is to ask someone with a graphics program (like me), and they (me) can create you a nice 8.5x11" flier.

Next, you'll receive the file and you should:

1) buy a colored ink cartidge for your printer.

2) Buy some good quality paper. Ask for something heavy, but make sure your printer can handle it.

Where to shop: Staples
Above costs: $53.36

3) Buy some envelopes. Make sure they aren't the ones you need to lick, those are unprofessional looking - and gross!

Where to shop: Dollar Store
Above Costs: $1-2

4) Use your printer, and print away!

5) Fold your fliers 3-way. So that they can fit into your nice envelopes.

-

NOW, for even more fun!

6) Head back to Staples, and buy some 'labels' for your printer. On the package, it will have a link to the template you should use. Download the template, and add in your COMPANY NAME, PHONE, and EMAIL.

Print.

Now, stick the labels in the top left of the rear side of the envelope.

DONE!

-

EDIT:

Considering you will be printing the fliers yourself, they must not be too 'color heavy'. Meaning, their shouldn't be any images other than your logo!

So have a logo done, and then download OpenOffice for FREE!
OpenOffice can also be used to open the template file for your labels.

In OpenOffice, you will want to use the "Writer" feature to create your flier - or you can ask me!

Here is an INVOICE example, made using OpenOffice.

Here's a promo flier (place business card in the box that says THANKS!)

What do you want to do with these signs? Give us more thoughts on what you are thinking of.

The more we know, the better we can describe an option that may work best.
