Non-detergent oil

Time for the first oil change on my new ferris is500z. The manual just says sae 30 oil. I accidentally bought non-detergent sae 30 oil. Will this be ok? What do you guys use regular or non-detergent oil? Thanks!

I dont see why this would be a problem. Putting detergent oil in a non-detergent engine could be though. I have a few older machines that require non-detergent but most use regular oil now. As far as brand I been using mobil1 since last year.

Without the extra additives, couldn't that make it less viscous in the colder months?
