Hi meadows lawn care,

Welcome to our forum!

What kind of services do you plan on offering? Would you be applying any chemicals?

Well, this is just my knowledge from Georgia, but here goes...

Naturally, you'll want to get a business license. I would also HIGHLY recommend you get General Liability insurance... and if you're going to be applying chemicals (and here's where the "Georgia knowledge" comes into play) you're going to need an applicator's license and a contractor's license. Apply chemicals (including fertilizer, weed killer and bug killer) without these licenses and you WILL be fined.

Hope this helps.

Go here and read up on all of this and it will help you with what to do.

http://www.irs.gov/businesses/small/...=98350,00.html

Then follow the links to the SBA (Small Business Assoc.)

or you can go to keiths Learn how to start a lawn care business and buy and read what he has put together. All of this is good info and will keep in check with Gov. YOu can get your local Business license from the county clerks office in your area, if they dont handle it they will point you to who does.

Good luck
Tim

Hi meadows lawn care,

What got you interested in starting your own lawn care business? Have you run other businesses in the past?

I like being outdoors and being my own boss.I want to plan my day and be home at night..I work nights right now in a factory and cant wait to be outside.I like doing lawn care to see the results of someone doing a good job and taking care of a lawn not just mowing it.I found the government part and now i need to go to my town clerk.thank you everyone for your help

Go to your local city hall for your business license. As far as the government, just pay your taxes.
