Default Fencing

No cheese, not fencing with swords...
Does anyone build fences? I am thinking about adding another service, I guess to widen my fishing net so to speak when customers come across my company. What do you charge and is it profitable enough to matter?

Here is the problem that I see with that, there are thousands of companies out there that all they do is fences. If you get a job that is going to take you 2 weeks to cmplete how are you going to handle all your other customers.

Unless you are going to make an entire separate division of your company, I would pass on that.

Adding services is a great way to diversify your customer base but fences are a one time thing. Think of services where you get returning money.

I dont do maintenance. I do tree removal, trimming, mulching, pine straw, aeration and overseeding. I hate maintenance.. ironically lol.

So basically I can schedule accordingly, I am never required to be some where every friday for ex. I can schedule 2 weeks out if need be.

Is this something you can put your feelers out and start smaller with some repairs at first?

We have seen some members on here do pretty well even with fence post hole digging.

You just never know for sure what the market will want until you experiment a little.

I am about to add a fence to my property. I do not do fencing commercially. I do have an estimate that was emailed to me for an acre square of fencing with three gates, one of those being a drive way entrance. The bill came to a little over $8,000.00 with three days for completion. If you need it or would like it pm me and I will email it to you.
