I thought of the ethanol free cans that hedge mentioned. It would be a lot cheaper if you found a ethanol free gas station.
That would be ideal and I'd use it year round if it were an option. Sadly, ethanol free gasoline does not exist around here.

I saw a demonstration of various fuel stabilizers with water added to the test tubes. Sta-bil and others were not very impressive. Granted, this was a demo by another manufacturer, so I take it with a grain of salt, but I think Sta-bil may be an "old technology" and simply sells because "that's what my father used".

There is one place near here that has it, but regular gas is 363 and this guy wants 475 per gallon, I will deal with the crap

Here's my question... aside from keeping the parts "moving", what good does that do?

It's still the same, old gas in there. Most "storage" problems are fuel/carburetor issues, so I'm not sure what running it does.
That said, I'm not much of a mechanic - that's why I ask.

Anyway, I'm not dragging all of my stuff out from the back of the garage just to run it for a few minutes.

I guess that all depends on how long it takes the fuel being used to start to gum up. If a couple of months can make that happen, then I could see the benefit of starting the equipment. Otherwise, I don't know if there is one.
