Hey gang... I was just wondering if anybody uses service checklists to leave behind at the customer's property after you've been there... to say "We were here and this is what we did:"...

...also, do any of you have RFP forms (request for proposal) that you print out and give to customers in case they want to ask about your services in the future? Do you think it would be beneficial to create one and put it on your website so a potential customer could print and send to you? I'm thinking that the main ones that would use this would be potential commercial accounts...

Thoughts?

Lawn care business tips
Hey Patrick,

Heres what I was working on tonight, I guess Great Minds do think alike. I put together a door hanger that states "We were there and preformed such and such services today, please call about any issues or question you may have" Thank You!

Here is a link to a new page on my website.

What do you think? Be sure to check it out top to bottom and all links to other pages with in the site. This will look about the same wiht the exception of the NEW FLASHER to draw attention to the new links REQUEST SERVICE and LOGIN to request service you don't have to have a log in. check out the coupons page.

http://www.rrlawncare.com/services.html

Let me know what you think?

Thanks Tim

Hey Tim! I think the new stuff on your site looks GREAT!! Is there a way you could put the new box with Login and such on the front page, too? I think that may be beneficial in keeping some of your visitors occupied.

With the new login system, what exactly is that for? For them to pay their bill online? What are you using to do that? Is there a way to incorporate that into your existing site design instead of being on a blank page?

...and do you have an example of the door hanger you were working on? I'll be doing one as soon as I get finished here in a few minutes... I'll share mine when I get it finished. = )

What kind of information would be put on such a form and how often are these used?

I'm not sure... that's one reason why I was asking. We (my partner, my wife (office manager) and I) were talking the other day about submitting a bid for our church's lawn maintenance. My wife, having worked for one of California's largest landscape companies, said that a lot of times, commercial jobs will have bid packages. Sometimes, they'll submit a RFQ or RFP (request for quote / proposal) to different companies in the area to get them to bid on the project. I was just wondering what everyone else has encountered.

.....and those door hangers are great, Tim!

Oh ok now I get the question.

Most property management frims have standard practices which are YOU request to be put on their bidders list and once you have been accepted they will send out a bid package clearly stating what services, how many times, and or how much. You will bid from their specified package. Each one maybe a little different but mostly they are the same.

I send out letters of request; to be placed on the bidder list.

here is a copy o f the letter

As far as what is in these packages? I can be as much as FULL Maintenance; cutting, fert, pruning, hedge trimming, shrub/tree care, mulch, watering, etc.

If you are wanting to know what to present to the Chruch I would start off basic; cutting, mulch, weeding plant areas, lite pruning, hedge trimming.

Then list options for other services as an adder to the monthly fees; fret, shrub care, watering etc. when needed.

With the options they can choose to do or decline or at the least they have a quote for those services if they do decide they need any of them.

Does this help?

This is what I do. Go big and let them cut it back, you never know you may just sell it all to them if you present it this way. If you don't let them know you do provide all these services then they may or may not ask and hire someone else who does.

Here is that letter to a business requesting to be placed on the bidders list.

Hope this helps
Tim
