Welcome to our forum!

I'd love to see what you create. Take pics as you go.

Here are some I found that might help inspire your design.

you are gonna need more support behind the plow because either one of those designs will fold like a cheap tent when the weight of the leaves gets in front of them.

the first pictures have it connected to the machine with flat stock steel that will bend like butter and the bed frame for the second set will crumble even faster.

those wheels from the bed frame will end up tearing up the lawn as well.

if you are gonna make one yourself which is totally fine and easily done, at least copy a proven design like a jrco leaf plow which is not only proven it is just as easy to make.

i bought a jrco years ago and since i have made every other one i have have had off their design and the few hundred to buy one is well worth the expense for the time it will save as well as the wear and tear on the blowers and your back to move it.
plus they last forever so unless you need more then one you will never have to buy one again.

Very creative!

What's your view on the pros or cons of using them?

i personally don't have any cons with them and anything that can allow me to move a lot of leaves fast and effortlessly is a pro any way i look at it.

one of the most entertaining things we do with the leaf plow is that we have some large properties that create mountains of leaves and we take four mowers with the leaf plows on it and space them a few feet apart and push piles twice the size of my truck across the parking lot and straight into the woods.

the only con that i incurred in making them is that i find using old leaf rakes on the bottom to scratch the ground below the plow works better then using a rubber flap.

Do you find them more efficient to use than a leaf blower or vac system?

heck yeah when you have a 6ft high 10 ft deep and 20 ft wide pile of leaves to move.
blowers are only good until you have a big pile in front of them and from there you need to either move them along or clean them up before you can go further.

it is a waste of gas, time and wear and tear on your blowers if it is taking you 15 minutes to move a pile of leaves 5 feet plus with the fall leaf season comes the sudden gusts of wind so while you have the leaves gathered it is good to get them out of the way until the next gust comes along and puts them back over where you just cleaned.
