Default Cuttingedge here

Hey everyone. I just started this past June(yeah I know, a little late in the season). I work by myself and my wife might help out when needed. Shes a real big help though. The equipment I have is a 60" cut Toro Zero Turn, Echo weed eater, kawasaki weed eater, husqvarna backpack blower, 6.5' x 10' trailer with dove tail and also have a Troy bilt self propelled push mower that I just bought yesterday at Lowes for a great bargain. I have had a handful of yards during this season, some mulching jobs and various clean up jobs already. So, imo I did alright starting out. I will post pictures soon of my setup.

I do want to know how you guys go about emailing an estimate to businesses? I have to place a bid on one soon and Im very excited about it.

Are there any documents I can use for an example for one?

Also, Im looking for a great weed killer. My brother in law has used the brand Buccaneer that comes in a 2.5 gallon jug, but I cant seem to find it.

Anyone else have any other suggestions on the best weed killer at an affordable rat? Preferably one that comes in bulk. Thanks.

Last, Im glad to be a part of this forum and hope to learn a lot from reading others posts.

Lawn care business tips
Well welcome to the forum...glad to see another lawn care business started. Self-employeed is the way to go. to answer your questions...do a search in the top right for sample contracts...that should help you get started

As far as weed control I've always used Round up...pretty price though.

Did they give you any information or are you just looking over the property and giving them a price for basic services?

If you are needing lawn care contract examples, did you check out this part of the forum?

I recently got the bid and completed the job. Now I know how to estimate things and also to bring in more help if needed.

What kind of job was it?

How did your estimated time compare with the actual time it took to complete?

What would you do differently next time with it?

Removing some bushes. Had to dig them up and then planting some dwarf burning bushes. 6 all together. Even the ground out, plastic edging around the beds, plastic barrier for the weeds laid and then cypress mulch put down.

It was comparable, but I think I could of went up in price just a little. The roots were really thick and it took some time digging those out.

Having the extra help from the getgo, charging more of course and not dragging the job over 2 days. If you can do it in 1 day, then do it. My wife was with me and wasnt feeling very well the first day, so I left a little early.
