I hope the best for him and his family.

I wonder what he was involved with that lead to a shooting or was it just random? Not to be a a$$ but he told me thats why the big boys have insurance for the big equipment.

One of the things he snapped at me about was charging to low. He did a job for $60 and him and his ma were there for 3 hours. I told him he wasnt even making minimum wage. He fired back that was $20 a hour not knowing anything about man hours. A few days later he post his mower broke. If you charge accordingly you can replace mowers, windshields, etc. Thats why we charge as a business and not a employee. A employee cant replace their equipment but a business will do it in stride.

That is a very good point and many may not realize this early on until they go through a situation where they have a break down and need cash to get back on there feet and moving again. A lot of the process of starting a new business can really be a trial by fire at times.

that is the big difference between owning and running a business and owning a job.
too many people think that if they are making what they did or a few bucks more then working for someone that they are successful and have a business.

but then something happens by way of equipment failure or personal finances and they can not afford to address the problem because all the while they where working for chump change.

from the day you start your business you have to run it and charge accordingly and the day you start giving services away for next to nothing so you can put food on the table you are screwed.

when i started out i worked for some big companies and spent my time learning and i carefully planned my future by continuing to learn every detail of the trade as well as being a businessman as well as i saved my money to start my own business.
i did not wake up one day and say " that's it, i am tired of working for the man " and just dived in with no money and preparations to do so which is what i see so many do these days.

on top of saving money and starting out the right way i still had to work a job on top of running my business to put food on the table which is also something i see today that most are not willing to do.

this dude weekend warrior thought he had it all figured out and dismissed what some of us had to say as if he had a better way and we can clearly see that cutting lawns for next to nothing got him nowhere.

that ad on craigslist made it appear as if he was working cheaper then he normally would have and the fact of the matter is that was his normal price range.

i really hope all is well with him and his family but i also feel in the back of my head that he was not being truthful in how his window got broke and he may have been making the whole story up to garner sympathy to attract new business.

i am not saying that as if it is fact but i have seen people pull bigger stunts then that to try and pick up business in the past.

Weekend Warrior..He posted all the broken window stuff on his fb page. He hasnt made a post in a couple months. Around the beginning of july he was advertising that he could stripe your lawn like an American flag!!!!!LMAO!!!! He got a link from some website that had pictures of this and said, "Do you like this?? We can do it!" or something of that nature. A complete @sshat who talked nothing but sh!t. He had 2 push mowers and a ryobi trimmer and a broom and was constantly saying how professional he was. Like look at my uniformed crew...whatever, it looked like he just got off a shift at Burger King. Anyway Im glad his baby was not injured in the window accident. IMO Weekend Warrior= Tool.

I was reading, and this thread is very enjoyable, but:

I have to make a correction here.

You guys have mistaken Picframer for somebody else.

I just thought I would let you know.

-

Other than that, if there was one truly MASSIVE p*ick on this forum, you guys left me out?! What the heck man, I was hoping to get first place!
