Q.8 Why did you get your business started?

I had eight houses and a apartment complex for one customer.It didnt pay alot because it was a government business but i still made money.I had picked up a gas station that had a pretty good amount of grass on there lot.I still did this one year after i quit because they drove me nuts till i did.I also did a parts store.I also had a three acre park area for a housing adition.But my best was a forty acre lot for a future factory site that i mantained thirty foot around the property except once a year i bushed hogged every bit of it.This company offered the new building and everything once it was built.I did all of this weekly plus still worked full time for an excavating company.Once i got to this point i should have went full time mowing.But the thought of these places alone wouldn't pay my bills and the company i worked for wanted me to work more hours.So i finished the year out and let all of my customers no in advance that i would not be mowing next year.Biggest mistake i've ever made.This all ended in 2005.I had started it in 2000.But the biggest advantage is with age i have Learn't alot about business and how to run one.Mowing has always been on my mind.I've always have done landscaping jobs and retaining walls.So since the company i work for is shuting the doors what better time.I'm so close to being ready i can see the light at the end of the tunnel.So if everything goes as planned ill be running in spring.

I started my business for two reasons. There were no jobs to get here and I wanted to be my own boss.

Now I have an entrepreneurial (good thing there's spelling checkers!) urge and I'm working on starting another business too.
