Lawn care business tips

For me its the middle of the summer. The heat comes, it slows down and I feel like retiring. Instead I send someone to do all my work for me. You gotta love suckers I mean employees.

The problem is, it slows down to a point no one wants to hire us, sure I still got all my clients on contract - but no one new coming on board during these times. Considering how slow it's gotten, I've got my second wind to go out and get more business, but nope - no one cares right now and I can't blame them.

When the grass stops growing rapidly = the season is dead.

I start Leaf/Snow advertising this week. Should be exciting. I can feel my back getting numb already. I'm also firing my helper at the end of October. That s.o.b became useless once Spring hit! I don't ever want him back, unless he's willing to move is lazy a$$ and apply himself.

I was dragging in june due to the heat. my endurance improved, felt stronger as time went on. i havent advertised much but the calls are still coming in .

The interesting part is during the off-season we look forward to it. Then once the ball is rolling we're like when will it stop.

i say give me all your money and disappear you bastards.

we are just about hitting the final 3 month push for the season with the lovely leaf season coming up and this year has been a very taxing year with help and weather.

this is only the second or third year in 23 years that the season can not end soon enough.
maybe i am getting older or what have you but after 23 years and solid success i think i am on the cusp of making a major change in my business.

even though i have had the success i still feel as though i could be further along and after all these years i finally realized that as long as i am still getting bogged down with being on the job i will never be able to take it to that level of just managing a business.
there are limitations to how far you can go when the owner spends the lion's share of his time on the jobs.
