Lightbulb lumpy field into grass?

Hey Guys hows it goin?

I got this New Gig Mowing for these people that just Built a new house on the island. I am currently mowing a pretty sizable area around the house. 3 acres maybe. im a one man team and it takes 5 hours to do the whole kitten kaboodle(tons of brick and garden edging, stone steps). i REALLY like this one job....anyway Ive mowed the place 4 times and hes hinted 3 times how "nice the house would look" if the area from his lawn to the Ocean was mowed or manicured. its a HUGE area.....maybe 6-8 acres. It recently had been bushhog'd and is Really lumpy mainly from these Grass Atoll's (raised hard grass balls). they're super duper bobbally under my tractor.

Im asking you guys this cause im gonna research a piece of equipment and tell him ill buy it if he wants me to do it for Such$ and such$ and order it up. I dont own anything with a PTO.

hes talking like he doesn't expect this area to be Super finished like his lawn. but he wants it fairly short and green. like mowed every 3 weeks or something. short enough to walk in. right now its got huge piles of 2-3ft grass all over and it lumpy enough to break your ankle....anyway......does this sound like a job for a "Flail Mower"? or should this field be bushhogged regularly (8-10 times a season) or be treated 1st in some way....like a huge heavy lawn roller, then mowed with a finish mower? any suggestions? experience? 2 cents?

Ill post pics of this house..its insane. prob a $5 million dollar home. ive been doing a killer Stripe job on it too. im proud of it. the goober before me mowed it in circles...lol. this 1 account could create alot of coin for me if i maintain this feild .

Lawn care business tips
maybe it would be easier if the whole place was tilled, then rolled, then seeded? i dunno...that sounds like alot.

Your going to have to smooth those bumps out. Something good sized with a blade on it would work. It going to be some work I would imagine. Its going to have to be dozed or something. Otherwise the bumps wont go away. If you have access to a farm size tractor with a bucket or blade do that, then if you could get a rake for the tractor and go over it with that you would probably be all set.

I'd love to see what this looks like.

Check with your local equipment rental. I use SUNBELT here. They have all kinds of heavy equipment, like a box blade tractor, it has a box onthe back made for leveling dirt. or a small bobcat type dozer (get the tracked kind not the wheeled kind) usually reasonable only like 2 - hundred a day delivered and picked up. You have to refuel to full before they pick it up or they will charge your cerdit card, like 6 bucks a gallon for fuel. Check it out you might be surprised.

Yeah. thanks for the response guys. tool Rental is prob be the easy way to go to squash the grass Atol things. But i live on an island so its gonna be a bit more difficult/expensive but whatever.

I dont know if a bobcat/skidsteer would be the best to nip all those grass things. were talkin like 6 acres. i do have access to one of those on the island. the box blade sounds like it might work. ill check it out. never thought of rental. kinda shows im an island guy. i only leave once a month.

ill take pics tomarow to better explain and show this.

I look forwards to your pictures. It also makes you wonder if there is a business opportunity in equipment rental on your island!
