Mowing for neighbors that you know can sometimes cause "friction". I don't mind if it's someone nearby, but I've decided not to work for any immediate neighbors. This is a very interesting point. What kind of downsides do you see to mowing for immediate neighbors? And how much distance do you feel should be kept between where you live and the customers you take on?

Lawn care business tips

As the mowing season begins to slow I'm curious to find out what people do for work during the cold season. I understand clean-ups but I'm looking for ideas of other work?

Would like to know what people charge for clean-up, disposals if you have minimums etc...

I think a lot of what you charge is going to depend on how much you have to clean up. Some yards will have minimal leaves while others will have a collections of years worth. So you have to check it out first before you can bid.
