To the OP....

Dude do you know what the major cause of divorce is? Money problems! You just bought an 18k car with someone that you are not even married to yet. All I am going to say is keep your day job as long as you can.

By the way that car is not 18k by the time you pay it off, it is closer to 30k if not more.

Those kinds of cars make me want to pick them up and push them a couple of times to get them wound up before I let them go down the road.

Do you realize that the Model A got 20 mpg and you are crowing about 30 mpg? After 100 years we still can not do much better than a Model A. Wait until you have to climb a long steep hill before you make a final decision. Nothing like having a V8 under the hood.

The price of cars these days makes me nauseous.

18 grand for a quarter of a car? LOL!

We're still driving the Cavalier Rally Sport that we bought new in 1997 for $12,000. I thought THAT was too much!
Twelve grand over fifteen years works out to be a pretty good value though.

As far as micro machines go, those are the best looking ones I've seen.
You'll be turning the heads of guys wearing skinny jeans everywhere you go!

18K now and 30K when its paid off???? If thats what your accountant tells you, you may want to part ways with him. Even at 4 years 10% interest paid is under 4K. As for a Model A, could you let us all know where we can find a new one? I'm sure inquiring minds would love to have a 100 year old car with 20 mpg. I bet you still think the Pontiac Fiero is a cool sports car.

Ahahaha, I wouldn't mind that!

We are getting married in less than a month, the car was 0 down 0% interest rate for 60 months. We had plenty of room in our budget for a new car, this is the first car payment Ive ever had, all my other vehicles were payed in cash up front.

The absolute only reason I bought it was because of the 0% financing, to good of a deal to pass up. How can you beat $350 a month for a brand new car, I know my sisters car payment was over $500 a month.

Lol, actually there is a lot of room in the back, it has a pretty decent sized truck space, then if you fold the seats down, you have a whole lot more space. Me my fiance and two of my friends went to the movies in it the other night, my friends sat in the back seat and they said it was actually pretty comfortable and there was enough leg room.

Honestly for new cars I like to lease. Unless you drive a ton of miles its a good deal. You have it for 3 years then get a new one. Id never do this with a work truck obviously but a personal vehicle it works great. I mean a lot of people keep a new car for like 3-4 years and trade it in, so theres not a huge difference. Anyway congrats on the new car.
Thanks man.

I have always had a thing for little cars, my first car was a Mitsubishi eclipse(absolute junk in my book), I bought a Mitsubishi 3000gt, I still have it but i'm looking to sell it now, I really don't need it anymore. I do have a chevy s-10 I love it, but I hate its horrible gas mileage.

I thought about leasing, but were planning on keeping this car as long as possible, so buying it was the smarter choice. Who knows, my financial outlook my completely change 3 years from now.

I'm about 5-11 to 6' havent been measured in a while, and I fit quite well in that little car, now my 3000gt on the other hand...quite a task to get in and out of.

I think the total came out to be a little over 21k because we bought gap insurance, and an extra warranty for the car, so all that added up after tax and tags, I think it came to be around 21k. The price before tax and tag i think was 18k because we went with the model above the base model.

hopefully fiat "Fix It Again Tony " doesnt just pack up and leave you holding the bag on a complete pile of dung like they did in 1979-80 .My first car was a 1979 fiat spyder convertible ,with only 5000 original miles ,a blown headgasket ,and no dealer support to repair it .Fortunately,I worked at one of the former dealers who had some parts in stock so I was able to repair mine ,while many many others brought their pretty new cars in for scrap .That car was nothing but trouble, and caught fire and burnt with less than 20,000 miles on the clock .I paid $950.00 for the car which was a year old and hadnt made it to its second oil change when I bought it .
