Truck trimmer racks

[SECTLANDSCAPING]

Well I tried angle iron but I had to get precut strips and it wasnt thick enough. So I returned it and used wood. The pictures suck because its dark. It was 93 today and I waited till the sun to go down.

Holy crap. If you came along side of me on the road, I'd apply the brakes and let you get ahead of me so that rack doesn't fall over on my car when you hit a bump!

It actually held up pretty good. I had some 1 inch eye bolts holding it down. I dont like the racks though someone stole the middle trimmer not to long after that. Then last week with the rack now on trailer someone stole the husquarvana(bottom one) and fs90 that replaced the fs55.

The racks act as a display case for thieves.

My "rack"...








I made this because lifting the trimmer up off the truck bed just got annoying. With the tailgate up, it was awkward to get it out.
It's not permanent. That way I can move it if needed. Front of the "shelf" rests on a tool box with rarely needed items, the middle is supported by the wheel well, and the back is supported by the little wooden support I whipped up.
My trimmer gas can fits perfectly under it. Works great and the trimmer never leaves the shelf while driving.
